Session

Disability service providers follow Administrative Rules that refer to abuse, neglect and exploitation whereas domestic violence agencies function under the Illinois Domestic Violence Act. Are we talking about the same thing? What’s the difference? Can victims/survivors of abuse, neglect and exploitation utilize domestic violence services? Is there a difference between caregiver abuse and intimate partner violence? Curious??? This training will answer these questions and help providers connect to available resources. Participants of this training will be able to: 1. Increase their knowledge of the intersection between domestic violence, people with disabilities and people with hearing loss. 2. Increase their proficiency in responding to disclosures of violence and supporting victims/survivors. 3. Increase understanding of their organization’s capacity to impact survivors of domestic violence. *CEUs for QIDPs, LNHAs, RN, LPN, APN will available through a third party.* **If you need any special accommodations, please notify training@ilcadv.org by 08/07/2017.**
